When I Trace a Bitmap or jpeg photo I get clear lines.  When I go to move the trace the line widens and is filled in black form where it is moved from to where it is moved to.

When I use a bezier tool to trace an image I can move the lines without any distorion of the width.  

There must be somethin fundamental here that I am missing as to why this occurs. 

Is it possible to change the "Trace Bitmap" lines do behave the same way?

The default autotrace setting will result in a black color filled shape - unless you use „Cernterline Tracing“ - but don`t expect wonders.

Many thanks.  I'll give it a try but I have pretty much been relying on hand tracing objects with the bezier pen.  Just try  to decide on which computer pen to use instead of a mouse.  I don't need all the extra features of a tracing tablet.  Just want to trace objects with a line.  From here I go to SVG and then a CAD operation.
