I'm sure we all have one of these, like we've got a complicated process or workaround to solve a problem or to edit a shape. It's fiddly, it doesn't always work, it takes time. Then you someone goes "you know you can just use that button there to do that?"

Mine has to be the "makeΒ selected segments lines" button on the node toolbar. I often need to break a shape apart and have the stroke on some sides but not others. I used to use the "break path at selected nodes" button and fiddle about with the nodes trying to select the right ones to delete the newly released nodes. I only realised a few days ago there's a button that does the job for you, and it's literally on the same tool bar as the "break path at selected nodes" button that I've been using for about two years now....doh!!!

Just this week... the question about creating a Bezier pen path: curved, then straight.Β  It's right there in the manualΒ (Shift+L) for the past decade and I went right past it. ::Donkey::
