Have been using .92.3 for almost 4 years on the same PC. I usually save as DXF 14 format to run on a plasma table. Recently it has been freezing up and shutting down inkscape. I downloaded version 1.2, although substantially slower in response it seems to not shut down. My issue is scaling. I will copy say a monogram pic and do a bit map trace and clean it up like I like and save it say as 18" x18" and when I open the DXF it's all out of whack, sometimes it's slightly smaller other times it's huge.

I always start with the document properties set to px and scale=1. Then, change only the units needed for the design and let the scale set itself.
When outputting to dxf14, ensure the units are set to match the document. (Same when importing to your CAM, of course.)
Sweet, it's been killing me!!! When I save as DXF, what's the deal with the dialog box that may or may not contain errors?
If you recently updated to 1.2, I'd reset Preferences and relaunch Inkscape.
