I recently upgraded to Inkscape 1.3 from version 1.2.2, and I am facing an issue with opening PDF files. Previously, I had no problems importing PDF or PS files into Inkscape 1.2.2, but after installing the new 1.3 version, I encountered a problem. When attempting to import a PS file, the PDF import option dialog appears, but further progress does not occur (the program becomes unresponsive).
I also tried exporting an SVG file created in Inkscape 1.3 as a PDF and then attempted to import it, but it still didn't work.
I have uploaded a sample PDF file that I tried to import, and I would appreciate it if someone could verify if it is importable.
Can´t tell anything about the look, but it comes in flawlessly. Not sure if the tip is still valid with 1.3 but recently we´re resetting Inkscape´s Preferences at Preferences->System+restart with each update.
Unfortunately, the suggested solution didn't resolve the issue for me.
In an attempt to troubleshoot further, I downloaded the 7zip version and ran the "debug trace" as you recommended. I have attached the trace file to this reply.
If there's any other advice or steps you can provide to help me get the PDF import functionality working in Inkscape 1.3, I would greatly appreciate it.

Like Polygon, I also use a mac and I can open your pdf with no problems, but I have a suggestion. Open the file in your favourite pdf reader then [File > Print > Print to pdf] to re-encode it. You might be able to open the new file.
I'm experiencing the same phenomenon. Windows 10 / speaking Korean
I've asked the bulletin board several times since before, but it's hard to hear that everyone is working properly. Some people said it was a font problem, but it works properly in version 1.2.
So I'm operating it like this.
1. program files - inkscape - bin - inkscapecom.com - test.pdf : This opens the pdf file.
2. Save the test.pdf file as test.svg - Close the program - Open inscape 1.3 - Open test.svg
Developers, please check again.

The pdf opens properly in 1.3 under Linux Mint. I'll test under windows later today.
