Beginners' Questions Trouble using the differance tool and multiple patterns

    Combined 10 svg patterns together and having trouble using the differance tool . I do have the pattern on top with cut out below  . Using the latest version of Inkscape . Just started learning Inkscape

    I think the reverse order makes sense: pattern object below - cut-away shape on top: select both then Path->Difference
