    Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie to Inkscape, just started using it a few days ago. I'm trying to trace an image but halfway, the Bezier tool stops pulling (the line that keeps on going forever). But then I continue again.

However, when I select the entire image after tracing, two boxes/outlines appear. Then I click 'Set Clip' and the image seems like the trace sliced in half.

Please, what do I do? Especially since the image, I'm tracing is a little complex and large. 😟

I'd appreciate someone better at Inkscape than me responding, please.  How can I continue tracing from where I left off if the Bezier stops and starts again?

I ask this because, when I start again and select the clip it breaks up the trace outline.

    Hi Robin,

When you use the bezier tool, you can always continue where you left.
First select the line (with F1- selection tool) and click after that on the bezier tool again.
When you hover over the end of a line, a small square appears. If you click on that square, you can continue drawing that path.

    ------

I think in your case, you have made two different paths. You can select them both and then go to the nodes tool (F2).
If you then drag around two nodes to select them, you can join them with the -join selected nodes- button.
Then they will be joined and the two paths become one.

Thank you so much, Kirstie. I'll try your advice and see how it goes.
