Hi, I've used InkScape before, but not much, and not recently. I just downloaded and installed Inkscape 1.2.1 (9c6d41e410, 2022-07-14).
I'm running Windows 11
My image is sized in pixels, 1600 wide X 2560 high. The ruler is in pixels.
When I click the text tool, then click on the page and type, the text is microscopic. I can highlight it and drag the text object to a visible size, but how can I make my text tool produce "normal" sized text by default (normal = at least big enough to see)?
See screen shot and attached demo file. The red circle in the image is "XYZ". As I said, I can drag that to visible size, like the "ABC" and "DEF" in the screenshot.
It is a relatively new computer with no versions Inkscape previouslyย installed, but I tried the reset anyway, and it had no effect. But thanks for the suggestion.
Tiny text?

If an earlier version of Inkscape was previously installed on that computer, I'd reset the preferences.

I'd type some text and resize to my liking using the controls at the top.
Then, I'd open the Text/Font dialog (Ctrl+Shift+T) and set that as my default font.

I could swear I tried that, but apparently not. It worked! Thanks!
