Question is there a toolbar entry point accessible with dialogs closed to gain workspace.
I know in Edit / Preferences / Behavior / Steps can enter a value for steps and then use alt key while dragging.
Aware of Transorm and can select ° and enter it there then apply.
Question is there a way to have a box possibly in Text A|A Spacing dropdown, there is a box for character rotation (not skew) there already. Thought I read they were on bar then placed in dropdown to save space on smaller screens.
Alternate maybe on status bar like Canvas Rotation Box. Also don't seem to find rotation box in same scenario.
Skew is a global transform applicable to every object type, not just to text. I don't think it belongs with the Text tool. I do however see the value of a simple UI element to set the skew angles of an object.
The Select tool in your screenshot reports a relative change in skew angle, not the absolute value. Applying the same transform to multiple objects is a complicated task.
select the objects
open the Transform dialog
open the Matrix tab
turn on [Edit current matrix] and [Apply to each object separately]
set the values of [A: ] [B: ] [C: ] and [D: ] (probably copied from another object)
[Apply] (this of course changes the positions of the objects so....)
pick up the Select tool and move everything back where you want it
I worked out this method trying to draw isometric and perspective illustrations. Adjustments with the Select tool are usually good enough for simple horizontal or vertical skews but my brain can't cope with a combination of scaling, rotation, and X & Y skews.
Hi in this

Method was shown how to skew text.

@mendy Sorry to see you go.
