I have never used any graphics editor program like this. i am well versed in creating and manipulating tables in MS products and the like, but I am out of my element here. I have a PDF that is essentially a table, and I am trying to remove the last column on the right and add a column to the far left. Can anyone help me, or at least tell me the names of the elements or menu items that would be used to create a table in a graphics editor? Thanks!
okay, but what do i even look for? i have searched for 'table' but that is apparently not a feature or something you can insert as in Word. I have no idea where to even start...
I cannot even select an object to see the details of it. trying to select a cell or click anywhere on the table just highlights each border/line individually. i tried to group the rest of the columns and move them right as a group so i could insert a column to the left, but that is not working either.

I encourage all new users to step though the tutorials in the Inkscape Help menu. They are fast and easy.
Even if you have a specific, simple goal, the tutorials will provide concepts and terminology to communicate here effectively.
