I am pretty new to inkscape and face an issue for which I cannot find a solution. I have copied an object out of an existing larger svg file (in this case, the borders of Switzerland). I am confused why some nodes are smaller than the others - however it seems that those are the ones that are connected to multiple other nodes.
When I try to add a fill, it looks completely off (pic 1). So I though I will re-draw the object from scratch but when I want to snap on nodes, only the small nodes are visible (pic 2). Any suggestions what could be wrong?
The small nodes indicates double nodes in the same spot; βrectangleΒ selectβ and check Status Bar at the bottom of the Inkscape window. Rectangle seclect with the Node tool to select every node and hitting Join selected Nodes should clean up the path.
Dear Community,

Many thanks in advance.
