Beginners' Questions How to set origin in bottom left corner?

Novice here, returning to Inkscape after very brief use a year or so ago and already forgotten much of the basics. I'm determined to set aside time for methodical study, but my immediate objective is to draw labels on a box panel. It's for a Christmas present with an imminent deadline.

I studied a helpful YT video tutorial but it assumed that the origin of the page was at the bottom left corner. He had made all his planning measurements from that position on his box lid. But my Inkscape 1.1 shows it at the top left. Looking in File > Document Properties  I have the settings shown in my screenshot. However I don't understand how I should proceed to set the new origin. I'm a bit surprised at that default, as intuitively I'd have expected bottom left. Any help would be much appreciated please.

(And I'll no doubt be back for more help after I get into the drawing!)

Many thanks, that was fast!  I was just coming back to report that I'd found it!🙂

Duly closed and re-opened and the origin is happily now bottom left.

While I'm here, should I change any other fundamental settings, e.g  in Document Properties please? In brief I want to draw a rectangle representing the exact 150 x 100 mm lid, draw inside it, print it, and then scissor cut around the rectangle to get an exact fit.

Would it have been preferred for me to raise that in a fresh post?

I guess you´re printing on DIN A4 - so that´s what I´ve usually choose as a page size and arrange my drawing on it using mm as Units: and Display Units:

Thank you, yes A4. I'm hesitating over other settings whose meanings are not yet obvious to me, like Resize page to content, Scale,  Show page border, Border on top of drawing, and especially Viewbox.

Do you recommend I change any of those, given my intended drawing please? I have seen posts about printed output not matching the drawing, so that's my nervousness.

I´d don´t touch any other settings. Printing from Inkscape don´t work for most users - me included - I recommend to save as PDF and print with a PDF-reader - but you have to check the output for its size. It is not uncommon for the printout to be smaller because any margins are written into the PDF that are coming from the printer driver. A simple test can verify whether or not this is the case: draw your 100x150mm rectangle and print out - check with a ruler.

Taking your advice of a test, I was pleased to find that the rectangle printed by my ancient Canon Pixma injket was exactly the specified size.

Fine – Good luck with your project.
