I've been using Inkscape for a short while, so I know the basics. I'm trying to draw a room of a house for a remodeling project. I'm trying to make the drawing to scale. What is the correct document setup to draw to scale?

For example, I want an object in a drawing to be 96" x 48". I want my page to be 36" x 48". I draw the object to fit on the page as an object of 12" x 6" i.e 1/8 scale. How do I configure Inkscape to show the object as 96" in the Tool Control bar where the W and H are displayed? And by extension, the X and Y coordinates be at the same scale?

    I'm on Inkscape 1.2

You could use an extension: https://inkscape.org/~Moini/%E2%98%85realscale-resize-by-line-of-known-length (sorry, had the wrong link in the clipboard).
