Beginners' Questions How can I make a triangle with rounded corners?

    I'm trying to make a triangle with rounded corners.

    My attempt has involved this workflow:

    * create a rectagle
    * select the 'edit nodes' tool, find the handle that controls the corner hardness and drag it to soften the corner
    * with the rectangle selected, select 'object to path' >Β Β Now I have two nodes at every corer
    * go to one of the corners and delete the nodes > I now have a blobby object
    * with node tool selected, manipulate nodes to get a triangle

    Now I have a triangle with one hard edge, one soft edge, and one edge that starts to softly curve but then takes a hard angle.
    This is the result:

    I've been wrestling with this for a couple of hours now, trying to manipulate the stroke paramaters and the nodes, but I can't get what I want.

    How can this be done?

    I'd use the star/polygon tool with the polygon buttton active and 3 spokes/sides, then add the rounding with the numeric control. Convert to path if needed.

    There is also a Corners Live Path Effect that can be used onΒ any "corner" of a Path... 3 sided objects converted to paths or those with multiple sides, as in 4, 5,Β 6 and so on.

    With this Live Path Effect you can do one corner at a time or multiple corners.
