Hi to all again, I'm Max. Can anyone tell me how to do shading (complex for me) ? In the pictures you can see my Inkscape mapping project of a submerged cave and the detail about the water area only. My idea is to make different shades of water, in different places in the cave, darker color = deeper water, lighter color = shallower water. The colors you see I made with shades, but I am not satisfied with the result, because you can see a lot of errors between the different pieces. Thank you
No - just select the compound path and activate „Mesh gradient“. It´s up to you how many divisions you want/need to apply colors on the right spot - the markers can be dragged. The above example can carry 25 different colours BTW.

Perhaps „gradient mesh“ can help, which might need to be converted into a bitmap copy to work in other applications - depends on your target.
Hi Polygon, thanks for your reply. Let mi understand, I've to divide in 16 zone ? so I've to cut in 16 and work for each one ?
