Hello everyone. I have a problem and i hope somebody can help me. I don't even know if its possible in inkscape. So i want to laser cut a bracket with a hole in the middle. Through the hole will pass a pipe. I want to give the pipe a small angle which would turn the circular hole into an ellipse. Can it be generated in inkscape somehow to create an elipse by the angle which the pipe will give? Imagine this situation like drilling a hole at an angle. Thank you
Thank you so much. I have been trying the old fasioned way of drawing different ellipses in inkscape and cutting them with a laser to see how the pipe would fit, trying to figure out the correct dimensions and i came close but not perfect. Thank you for the formula and for the time spent looking. I have also searched the internet looking up formulas and i was unsuccesful due to not knowing how to phrase the search

This might work: diameter/cos(angle°).
( Divide the pipe's diameter by the cosine of your angle in degrees.)
e.g. if d=5, and the angle is 10 degrees: the cosine of 10 is 0.9849... so 5/0.9849= 5.077.
I'd make a circle of the pipe's diameter and stretch it along one direction to the major diameter.
Extra length will be needed depending on the thickness of the material. ( I didn't find a formula for that, but it's easy to do in CAD.)
Found the formula here: https://math.stackexchange.com/questions/2982174/vertical-pipe-through-a-45-roof-how-to-determine-the-roof-holes-shape
Have a nice day.
