I have had an architect's drawing made, which I received as a PDF file. When I open it in inkscape, I can select single paths and edit them, but I can't use the select tool to select a group of them - the entire drawing seems to be a single object. This is a problem - I want to delete a part of the drawing, which I can in principle do by clicking on each path with the path tool, but each line between all the bricks is a separate path; is there way to solve this problem? I've attached the drawing as svg after anonymising it (I hope).
The PDF contains lots of nested groups; group of 2 objects, groups of one object, group of 110 objects, group of 1942 objects and so on: Every letter/glyph is one object for example.
So good luck with ungrouping - you then can add-select with the node tool + shift key parts you want to alter and/or hit "S" to translate as objects.

Would have been easier for you and the creator to use textures instead drawing everyΒ brick joint for instance. ;-)
