Using Inkscape with Cutters/Plotters M codes inserted into the drawing file

I am operating a drawing plotter machine and was wondering if there is a simple way of automatically

inserting the M codes that are required to lift and lower the drawing pen into the G-code program.

I am editing the drawing file manually to include the "M5 S0" and "M3 S30" commands.

I allready gave you an answer in your other post.

Yust select the default tool in G-code extensions and alter the settings of your choice.

    Jpeg attached to show you,

I am sorry, I misunderstood your first answer.  But I did understand this one and thank you

very much.  I have it working great.  Now the next question is how to get clip art to

convert to G-code using inkscape.  I installed inscape-unicorn and copied the files into the extension

folder, but could not get it to work.  Never saw the g-code listed in the extension menu when saving the file.

Glad to hear it works, great !

I do not use unicorn so I can't give you a reasonable answer other than

-it has to do with the inkscape version (it was designed for former versions  of inkscape and maybe it was a special version for that job)

-becuase the latest inkscape version works with python 3.0 , the former runed under python 2.x

-maybe it has todo with the units setting , (set px instead of mm or inches)

    Solution:

If you use the builtin path to gcode extension ,you can alter all the settings to your needs to make a fine gcode

    Have a nice day,,,

What am I doing wrong, I size a image to 40mm x 40mm and all the necessary things to

convert it to a g code and then when I get it to the UGS it is 6 times larger?

Once again ,put your G-code here.

Make it simple , just draw a rectangle of 40mm by  40mm and position it on X0 and Y0.

That is to determine wheter the problem lies within Inkscape or is rather an UGS situation.

    Hey, YoAw
Möchten Sie klarer sagen, was für Sie funktioniert und was nicht?
