Beyond the Basics Poor redraw performance

Hi everyone. Just checked out Inkscape for the first time in quite a few years, and I'm very impressed with the new look. I always wanted to use Inkscape, but the old X-window motif and stuttery performance was tough to take. So congrats to the team on the overhaul.

Although the UI's performance is smooth on an M1 Mac, it's pretty bad on an Intel Mac. I hear that Inkscape is built on GTK, which claims to use hardware acceleration. Does anyone have insight as to why it's so slow on Intel?

Thanks! I'm looking forward to using Inkscape! GJ, team.

I have the same issue running in windows 10 pro 64 bits. Will investigate.

I'm running Inkscape1.3.2 on a 10-year-old i5 macbook pro. Performance is good until I reach many thousands of nodes or use several complex filters. Before v1.0 I found it unusable. What version are you running?

Im running 1.3.2 also. I was using linux, specifically fedora, and it runs very fast, but needed to work in a windows workstation now. Its taking 1s after each caligraph draw to painting appears rendered.

Tryed  change render configurations,  like number of threads, etc... Nothing that solves for me.

The windows graphic card is a nvidia 1050 ti. Its all installed correctly. This machine has 16gb ram. I think its a nice machine.

I'm using 1.3. Just tried it again and I'm not seeing any major problem now. So... I don't remember exactly what was going on. I definitely didn't have any complicated drawing up.
