Hello.
I have traced a graphic and am left with considerable cleanup.
My sample shows 3 objects that could be leaves.
I need to cut and separate each one.
Time consuming for the way I know how to do it (using the node tools break apart and join).
I am looking for some thoughts on an efficient way to do this.
I need to cut/slice/break where the arrows point to.
I have a number of these to clean up and would like to find a better way than a number of steps I am doing for each point.
Tell me what you can thanks for listening.
Bob
Hi. Here is my quick suggestion.
See the graphic and the attached svg file and the same file zipped (as a 7z file.)
Hope this helps. I am off to bed.
Fast and dirty:
Hello
Thanks for getting back with me.
I'm having a little trouble understanding what you are doing. Happens a little fast and can't see the keyboard pressed.
You move red up and then delete? Not sure ...
Perhaps I wasn't clear on my problem.
Each one of the 'leaves' is part of the 3 'leave' group. If you zoom in you will see that.
I basically want to break off each 'leaf' where it joins the group.
The way I do it now is select the two nodes at the joint of the 'leaves'.
Then I break at selected nodes.
Then I pull the paths apart and join to two sets of nodes for each 'leaf'.
Then I have to fiddle with maybe deleting a node or two and straighten up the paths.
Just wondered if there was a simpler or easier way to do it.
Thanks
The individual shapes are roughly duplicated using the bucket tool, then the originals are deleted and the red fill is applied to the three objects.
