As far as I know Inkscape displays colours in sRGB by default. Is there anyway to change the colour profile to Adobe RGB? I have a monitor and a printer capable of displaying / printing the Adobe RGB range but don't know how to get Inkscape into this mode.
Ah okay yes I can see find that. At the moment there is nothing in either the "Linked Color Profiles" section nor the "Available Color Profiles" but with the latter there is a long drop-list of options available (although I can't see the Adobe RGB option in there). So...
1) If I select an option will it automatically apply this to the document? If not then how do I select a colour profile and apply it to the document?
2) Can I obtain the Adobe RGB colour space from somewhere and install it so I can select it from the drop-down menu in Inkscape? If so does anyone know how to do this?
3) Selecting a colour profile from the "Available Color Profiles" drop-down and clicking the "+" button next to it adds it to the "Linked Color Profiles" box above. Does anyone know what this does?
TIA (again!) :-)
*edit* okay so I've tried changing to different colour profile options, selecting them, adding them to the top box etc, but it doesn't actually change anything I'm seeing on the screen. I'm guessing I'm not apply the profiles, but I don't actually know how. I can't see anything that looks like an "Apply" button or "Use the selected profile" option!
*edit 2* In Global Preferences I've found the "Color Management" option which is under "Input / Output" options. Under "Display Adjustment" I can change the display profile in there, and this DOES make a difference to what I'm seeing on screen. However I'm guessing this is just a display adjustment, and wouldn't change the colours I would actually print? I.e. it's not changing the colours Inkscape is actually using (so it's still in sRGB for example) but it's changing what I'm seeing as it's a display adjustment. Is that right?
I think it should work like this, that you select a profile from the list, which are available to the system and when exporting it should be inserted. Does not work under macOS; the exported PNG does not include any icc-profile.
Okay thanks for the reply. I actually want to be able to see the screen in Adobe RGB and also print in Adobe RGB (both my monitor and printer have a colour gamut that covers most of the Adobe RGB space but I seem to be stuck designing and printing in sRGB at the moment)

Under Document properties->Color you can look up Available Color Profiles or link to other ones. Hopefully this will help.

There´s another option in the Inkscape preferences which might suit your needs; Preferences->Input/Output->Color management->Display profile
