I have Inkscape 1.1 on both my aging MACbook and also on my screaming-fast I-9 workstation running Linux Mint.ย I have a problem with the version running under Mint.ย As Example - I draw a rectangle, apply Object-to-Path, then attempt to make it an irregular 4-sided shape using Edit-Paths-by-Nodes, clicking and moving a vertex node.ย This works fine on the MAC version, I can independently move any of the vertexes and the edges adjust accordingly.ย In the Linux version, however, it always creates another node and another edge, so I end up with an irregular pentagon instead of a quadrangle.ย I've tried looking all over for settings that might cause this but no luck.ย Can anyone explain this to me?ย My old MACbook is really slow so productivity on that sucks.ย Thanks!
Before using Object toย path, I'dย click the last button in the toolbar that makes the corners sharp. It sounds like there is some corner rounding applied.

Worked like a charm!ย I can now return my pallet-load of Tums to Costco.
