So I am working on a project using Inkscape and DaVinci Resolve, and I was having a problem with slicing objects, whenever I try to delete a slice of the object, the other part also gets deleted, can someone please help?
So I am actually making a Windows 12 concept, and when I was making a camera icon for the Teams chat app, I had to make a trapezium that has curved corners on one side and sharp ones on the other. So I decided to make a trapezium with curved corners and slice it. I tried to slice it and delete the sliced away bit but it deleted the entire thing, the sliced bit and the shape I was going to use. Oh yeah, and I can't even post a picture it gif of it since now it just straight up crashes every time I try to open the file with an "internal error".
The Slicer is part of Web-tools - are you sure you want to use this or a Boolean operation like Path->Difference where you can cut off a shape from a shape?

Can you give us a step-by-step instruction set please? What is sliced by what?

You still don´t describe what exactly you did. How do you slice?
I just convert the rectangle into a path and use the slice path effect
