When opening Inkscape on my mac air I keep getting a pop up box saying that that the preferences.xml file is not valid.
I have googled it and the solution seems to be that I need to reset the preference settings.
I am following the instructions online which are telling that to reset the preference settings I need to: Go to Edit >> preferences >> system >> reset preference ( its the first item under system info).
I am doing this, but there is no 'reset preferences' option when I click on 'system.' See my screen shot attached.
Versions of Inkscape before version 1.0 do not have the reset button. The preferences.xml file can be found in the computer's user profile, and the file can be renamed. Inkscape will make a new preferences.xml file with the default settings. The location for the preferences is shown in the line that says "User preferences".
I'm not Mac, but I recall something like copying the location from the Inkscape system window and going to the Mac Finder and pasting into the location bar or "Go to:".

So how am I supposed to reset preferences?
Thanks
