I have run into this strange issue when I export a .svg file created in Inkscape to .png opaque objects turn solid (e.g. objects that are set to 60% opacity in the alpha channel automatically go back to 100%). The same happens If I just change the fill opacity (%). If I save the .svg file as pdf everything looks file. When I try to do the exact same on a PC, the .png file also looks fine, so it seems to be something going on with Inkscape on my MAC.
In the below example, the black circle goes solid when saving to png but not pdf.
PDF file
This happens no matter how I export (document, page, selection). I have never encountered this issue before, even though I've been working on this computer for over a year (MacOS Big Sur version 11.2.3 with an M1 chip, running Inkscape 1.2.1). Any help would be very much appreciated <3
Pretty sure you´re exporting to just .png/rgb 8 instead of .rgba 8= a for alpha. Click on the cogwheel right to the file type for Export Format Options.
Ah yes, that's it! I couldn't exactly find a cogwheel, but I see what you're saying. The dropdown menu was somehow hidden on my second monitor - Thanks a million!
