    Hi,

Does it exist a manner to clean double lines ? I can't find it . I use Inkscape 1.0.2 beacause I have some difficulties with 1.2.2.

    Thank you.

Do you mean exact same line on top?

  3. #3
    Joelle Joelle @Joelle

    Yes, I do.

If they wear the exact style I have no clue how to separate the upper from the bottom one other than manually. Do you have an example file to play with?

    Joelle Joelle @Joelle

Yes, il is exactly the same, a duplicate one. It's annoying because the laser cuts twice and the kerf is bigger and darker.

I don't know how to include a file.

Use the Paperclip icon below or drag it into this editor window. I'm currently in doubt there are 2 on top but an outlined shape, because a doubled line shouldn´t broaden the machined grove. Waiting for an upload then.

If you can't upload your file, open the object panel (Menu : Object > Layers and objects , shortcut : Ctrl + Shift + O or L, depending on version).

    • Then select your path using selector (s) : in the object panel, your path is highlighted, (ex "path5382"). On status bar, check how many nodes contains this path.
    • Hide it by clicking on the eye icon next to it. If visually there is no change, that's because, as explains Polygon, you actually have two paths stacked one above another.
    • Clicking again with selector tool selects the duplicate : it has the same number of nodes than the path you've hidden. Remove it.
    • If there is another one, repeat...

    👍

    Maybe use an extension...

This plugin removes duplicates from paths with respect to their type (bezier or straight line segments). Please note that maybe you need to combine all lines/paths to one common path to make this work. So this plugin is ideal to remove common edges like professional nesting software is doing too.

    David 248,

Yes, I have two paths stacked one above another. But genarally, I don't know that.

It is when the laser cuts my drawing that I notice that there are superimposed lines and it is too late.
I would like to visualize these involuntary double strokes before cutting.

I seek to detect pathes stacked one above another.

Did you identify what creates unwanted duplicates in your process ?

    Joelle Joelle @Joelle

yes, me! It is a mistake made by me, for exemple I duplicate it and I forget it.

Could find and remove the double lines in this file.

    Thank you.

Select all - go Stroke and Fill panel - set Stroke to 2px - color to RGB127 A=50%. You will now pretty clearly see doubled lines by the shading.

I did it, but I can't see doubled lines. I can see some grey surfaces but it 's when the line is not closed.

Sorry for ask you help aganin and again.

Just color the Strokes - no fill:

I left one out - Can you find it?

After turning off the fill, it works reasonably well.

To decide which line to keep, click to select a doubled line, then Alt + click in the same place to select the other line.

These are not all single lines but shapes too - I´d select and move the suspicious ones to be clear what to remove and what to keep.

Setting the strokes' blend mode to Difference works well also.

    Polygon and Tyler Durden,

Thank you very much, it is very kind from you.

Yes, I found the double line left and I have had the solution with the Tyler Durden 's file. I like green lines with mode Difference, it is easier to notice doubled lines.

    Thank you.
