Please see my attached drawings of centrifugal pumps for example. For each pump, the pump housing and outlet (large circle and chimney-looking thing) are a single path, the base is a single path, and both paths are grouped together. If I were to create a clone of pump_90, would there be a way for me to apply a 90 degree rotation transform toΒ onlyΒ the "pump housing" path of the clone without breaking the clone's link to the original object, producing something akin to pump_0?

Answered in the other thread, as there's no difference (in SVG terms) between symbols and clones.
