Using Inkscape with Other Programs Inkscape crashing MS Word in VirtualBox

I am facing a peculiar problem. If I have MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) open in a Virtualbox session, and open Inkscape in the host Linux system, MS Office aborts (crashes). I have tried this in Debian and Manjaro (both using XFCE4) with the same result. This happens with my PC as well as my laptop, both are using Debian and Manjaro and XFCE4. Someone suggested changing the document properties from mm to px in Inkscape, but that is not helping.

    How to overcome this?

    Thanks in advance,

I'm not a Linux person, but I would explore running one program in another desktop session or as another user.  It sounds like a display conflict.

    This is pretty tricky...

    Possible workaround:

    1. Open inkscape directly in your Win VM.

    2. Copy before your SVG files in your Win VM and then open them in M$ Office.

I think your issue might depend by the fact that you are using fonts or linked images that are store/available on your Linux machines but not in your Win VM.
