I want to attach two rows of circles that cross each other at the top and bottom to a path, but I don't know how to do it, the adsorption function is on, but it doesn't seem to work. Please advise. Thank you.

    Here are two methods.

[Path > Path Effects > Pattern Along Path] distributes circles along a path without gaps or overlaps, but distorts the circles.

[Extensions > Generate from  Path > Scatter] does not distort the circles but there may be gaps and overlaps.

    Something like this?

Uploading attachments has failed for the past two days, promptingProblem uploading: Not enough space to upload this file. I need two parallel rows of intersecting circles, yours are side-by-side. It's not the same and I don't know how to attach to the path. @Paddy_CAD

I need to line up a matrix with two rows of horizontally intersecting circles. I can't upload the attachment and I don't know if you can understand it. @Polygon

Please check if you can delete some uploaded files from your account - I don´t have the admin rights to increase your upload space value.

    Maybe like so then?

I need a situation where two A circles are on top and one B circle is in the second row, arranged in a triangular position. But all three circles are touching.

Same procedure: arrange 3 circles in a isosceles triangle - upscale till there´s an overlapping - take 2 circles from this set up and go Path->Combine then draw a line and with both objects selected call "Scatter" extension and have a good play with it:

Tiled clones could do as well with just 1 circle.

Forced to do nothing. I've uploaded it to YOUTUBE. Check it out https://youtu.be/QDmAI_nVu5U  @Polygon

To line up 2 circles perfectly:

I can align the adsorption up and down, left and right, but the adsorption seems to be ineffective at a 45 degree angle. I don't know what the reason is, but I have all the adsorption functions on.

it needs to 60°.  Summary of angles in a triangle:180°/3=60

It looks to me like your last move was a manual move over, which means that your adsorption function was in effect. I don't know what's causing it. I can't get it to work here.

    Please try this at home:

Well, I'm giving up on the previous method, it's still this one that comes fast. Thanks, it took you quite a while.

This is a late reply but now I better understand the question. [Path > Path Effects > Pattern Along Path] will work if you can design the pattern correctly.
