Hi,
I've recently tried out some other built in swatches in Inkscape 1.4, and now when I'm opening it, it always set the selected swatches to the "Document swatches"  my color palette is empty, and every time a had to manually select an other swatches to display any color. I tried to change the preferences.xml : palette="/tmp/.mount_InkscarmHH3R/usr/share/inkscape/palettes/inkscape.gpl" attribute but still has no effect on it. Any idea how can I save my selected swatches to be remembered?

1. Describe your OS (your computer's Operating System: Mac/Windows/Linux/etc. & version).
2. Describe if Inkscape was newly installed, or upgraded from an earlier version.
3. Describe the version of Inkscape and the installer you used (the file you downloaded from the web: .msi/.exe/.zip/appimage/other, PPA/Snap/Flatpak, dmg/other ). 
4. Describe any special hardware being used, like tablet/stylus, external drives or multiple monitors.
5. Describe any helper/assistive programs or keyboard modifiers (macros, languages, etc.).

Bonus points, if you:

• Attach* a screenshot of the issue.
• Attach* an example SVG file that has the issue.

Here are more details:

• OS: Linux Mint 21.3 (Ubuntu)
• Version: 1.4 Inkscape-e7c3feb-x86_64.AppImage (from the official website)
• Hardware: Lenovo Loq 15irh8 laptop + 1 external monitor
• There are no helper/assistive programs

I've already used Inkscape v1.3.2 (Inkscape-091e20e-x86_64.AppImage - from the official website) on my device before switching to v1.4.
I managed to solve the empty swatches problem, by simply going to the older version of Inkscape and selecting the correct swatches, now its remember my decision and not auto load the empty "Document swatches".

I can reproduce this problem any times when I'm selecting the "Document swatches" in Inkscape v1.4, after this Inkscape refuses to remember any of the selected swatches.
