Hello, I'm very new to this but not to inkscape. However, I uploaded an SVG and it is not allowing me to ungroup. It will ungroup but still keep things into different groups. Ex: it's not separating my text from my shape. Or sectioning out the whole image. I have googled and googled and watched you tube after you tube and have been unsuccessful. I've searched the forum and haven't had much luck with this Specifically. Has anyone had this experience? Thanks so much.
Tyler, I finally figured that out. Now everytime I try a different job, the camera is not measuring correctly. I calibrated it before I started as it was used. It worked great the first time but now it's limited.
When I have issues similar to this, the solution is usually to use a series of ungroups and break apart commands. Being a text object, you may also need to convert your object to path and ungroup it, too. The way inkscape makes the grouping function sequential and "stepped" means that these commands will need to be used with an unpredictable order. So, I suggest making a copy of your asset in file and working on your copy till you get it right.
I appreciate the response. I had to pretty much start from scratch but it worked out. I think you're right, I couldn't figure out the order. In the end it was fine. Thank you again.

An example Inkscape svg file would be the best way to see what's happening.
