Hi, i am trying to separate elements of an image to paths so i can change pieces of them but cant figure out what i am doing wrong. to make it even more frustrating i could have sworn i have done it successfully before.
ive selected the object > path > object to path > break apart and it remains still intact. I have also selected the object and ungrouped and tried the previous also with no success.
can someone point me in the right direction? I would like to be able to break this all into individual pieces.

Your logo just contains the black rectangle and a raster image (bitmap) - there´s nothing in you can separate or break apart.
The bitmap would need tracing to vectors (or recreating as vectors) to use break-apart and other path tools.
