I'm new to Inkscape and only played with v1.1 for a few hours before replacing it with 1.2 Dev.
In 1.1, I was able to have the Inkscape window filling up one monitor with several dialogs floated on a separate monitor to the right. When Inkscape was restarted, the dialogs would open in the same position they were in before the program was restarted.
In 1.2 Dev though, when the program is restarted, the dialogs open but are moved to the left side of the same monitor as the main Inkscape window, requiring the dialogs to be repositioned each time.
Is there something I can do to fix this, or is it a bug with 1.2? I was gonna report it as a bug, but the reporting instructions say to ask a forum etc about the issue first.
I figured the behaviour I want would be controlled by the settings in Preferences > Interface > Windows > Saving window size and position
When I select the option "Save and restore window geometry for each document", I get the behaviour mentioned in my original post. The window opens on the correct monitor, but the dialogs switch from the right monitor to the centre monitor.
When I select the option "Remember and use last window's geometry", the main window moves from the centre monitor to the left monitor and the dialogs move from the right monitor to the centre monitor.

Have you checked: Preferences->Interface->Windows->Enable="Save and restore documents viewport". Does this help?
