I have an icon and want to clip it to a circle. So basically only the content inside the circle exists, everything else is deleted. Can I do it via inkscape?
I tried Path -> Intersection and Object -> Clip -> Set clip but none worked. I used these 2 methods some time ago and they worked but not anymore.
1. ensure clipping path (here, your circle) is atop (you can use hoe key to send it atop)
2. eventually group, if your icon consists of more than one path or object (I didn't download your svg file) all the parts of the icon to be cropped. Even if your icon consists of one path, it remains interesting to group this unique path (see later).
3. select both group and clipping path, right click and do Set : clip. Notice that the clipping path disappears (you can use for the clip a duplicate or a clone if you need your circle to stay visible).
4. With a clipped group, you can double click to enter group and move it's different parts inside the clip, or directly select them by ctrl-clicking.
Hello,

I am attaching the file.
Here is the svg file: https://we.tl/t-Zb8XDCqEI0
To properly use a clip, you must :
1. ensure clipping path (here, your circle) is atop (you can use hoe key to send it atop)
2. eventually group, if your icon consists of more than one path or object (I didn't download your svg file) all the parts of the icon to be cropped.
