I have many "icons" in a page. I would like to select each icon, copy and "quickly" paste it to a new document with the NEW page resize according to the selected icon. In GIMP, i would copy, and do a ctrl-shift-V, and it automatically create a new image and paste it to match the selecetd size. or I would select the icon i want, and save that selected icon as a separate file.
Methods:
I tried selecting icon --> resize page to drawing or selection --> save as. This does show the icon when i view it in the browser, but when i open the file it still has all the other icons showing.
I think what you're seeing is a consequence of the difference between raster graphics and vector graphics.
Unless you use a script or maybe the commandline, you can't do all of what you want in one step. If you want 1 icon in each file, you'll need to paste an icon into a new file, then use resize to contents, and then Save As.
