Beginners' Questions Menu and other UI text looks rough

    See attached screenshot. 

    Other users on the same system have nice smooth text so something's up with my user setup. 

    I don't see the problem in any other applications (I mostly use KDE apps but I've also tried Firefox and Gimp).

    I've tried resetting my preferences in Inkscape

    My System:

    Arch Linux
    Inkscape  installed from the Arch repositories
    KDE Plasma desktop environment
    Wayland window system

    Probably this closed bug: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/issues/2971

    You can file a new bug report with the link above, and the devs can decide to re-open or provide options.

    I installed xdg-desktop-portal-gtk and restarted xdg-desktop-portal (systemctl --user restart xdg-desktop-portal), and now the fonts are OK.

    The fact that they were OK for other users on the same system without this suggests there might be a better solution
