So I've been using Inkscape for a couple of years and I think it's a great program, but I've also recently started learning Adobe Illustrator as well (mostly due to Inkscape lack of true CMYK support). However I'm finding it's impacting my "intuitive" use of Inkscape especially in terms of things like shortcut keys (for example holding Shift to zoom in / out in Inkscape doesn't work in AI). I just wonder if anyone else uses Inkscape + Another Program and manages to be productive in both, or am I ruining my experience in both by trying to learn two different design packages, and should I just pick one and drop the other?
My personal opinion: It is worth learning both. I use a few other design programs (mostly CAD related) and it becomes natural to switch back and forth... like kids growing up bi-lingual.

Not sure if this will help with Shortcuts - but in Inkscape you can choose Preferences->Interface->Keyboard Shortcuts->Adobe Illustrator.
