I have noticed ALL my files have lost ALL layer/ group info in the dialog box. This is recent. When I select an object that I know was in a group it is selecting the group.
If you move your mouse pointed over the two icons to the top left of the layer pane.
They should appear.
Still not there though. In the particular drawing it should show at least 7 to 8 levels within layer 1.
Hmmmm... best to share the file for evaluation.

I you click on the lefhand icon (image in #3) the objects and groups should appear.
At some point, the sub-layers may have been switched to groups, but they can be switched back to layers with a right-click menu selection.

It's a way to bridge from the old Layers panel to the new Objects & Layers panel, for users that prefer the original.
