Beginners' Questions Inkscape default browser

    I have just installed Inkscape on:

    Operating System: Kubuntu 20.04
    KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
    KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
    Qt Version: 5.12.8
    Kernel Version: 5.8.0-59-generic
    OS Type: 64-bit
    Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i3-4005U CPU @ 1.70GHz
    Memory: 7.7 GiB of RAM

    My problem is that when Inkscape opens a browser, it always opens "Mozilla Firefox" and not the default broser, which is set to "Vivaldi".

    I'm trying to follow the instructions to post a message.

    1) I'm an Inkscape beginner and this is my first forum message: so, I suppose this is the appropriate forum-topic.

    2) Searched the forum for "default browser":

    2.1: Topic subject -> "No topics found with search 'default browser"

    2.2: Comment text -> 1 not useful result: "...browser and save the image (a PNG file) and then use File-Import and accept all defaults..."

    2.3: Topic threads -> like 2.1

    3) Via search engins: nothing useful.

    In:

    <https://inkscape.org/doc/inkscape-man.html>

    no parameter is concerning a browser.

    In Menu->Edit->Preferences, the serarch for "browser" gets "No Results".

    So, at this point the only thing remaining is to ask if it is possible to tell Inkscape which browser to use, and how I can do it.

    Thanks for any suggestion.

    I'm using Ubuntu 20.10, which is similar.

    If you mean which browser is used when you select Help > Inkscape Manual for example.

    It the settings in Ubuntu > Default Applications > Web - Inkscape seems to use that

    That 'web' setting is different to having .html files associated with a browser.

    I do not think there is a way to change that except via the OS settings.

    Inside an extension, it is possible

    I'm not able to replicate using Mint 20. Switching the default between Firefox and Chrome, Inkscape opens which ever is set to default.

    Not finding a solidly related report, but maybe this closed bug: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/issues/28

    inklinea, thanks for the suggestion.

    I'm using KUBUNTU, and to set the default browser in a "permanent" way requires a console command.

    I will evaluate writing a python extesion.
