You can set the exact value in xml editor (ctrl + shift + X) : select on canvas linked offset and modify value of inkscape:radius attribute and press enter. Unit is the one set for the document (here mm).
With this trick, I find Linked offset quicker to use than LPE : you need to stack Clone Original and Offset LPE.
Thus, Offset LPE lets you tweak the way the offset is drawn, giving you more control if needed.
I know I can drag the handle with Node Tool to change the dynamic offset. But is there a way to set the number precisely? For example:
It's 1.872682 now. How could I set it to exactly 1.8?
I prefer to use the Offset Path Effect so I can enter a value (px, mm etc).
