Somehow my default corner on rectangles is rounded. As I file shows, the star is not rounded.
I made the rectangle with sharp corners by adjusting it from a rounded to a sharp corner and then saved it. Usually, Inkscape remembers the last shape. However when I tried to create a rectangle, it came in rounded.
I have selected a rounded rectangle, and gone to fill and stroke join function and click on the diagram to the right -- sharp corners -- and nothing happened.
I have looked in document and cannot see any control over corners.

What to do?
The far right end of the rectangle tool controls (above the top ruler) has a reset button.
