I'd like to create a document that describes research I've done, and include diagrams that I have created in Inkscape.
The reason I'd like to use the pdf format, rather than, say, a Word doc, is because a pdf can scale the inserted svg diagrams without loss of resolution.
I've tried using PDF Candy to convert a test Word file to a pdf doc, and 'merged' it with a pdf of an svg file, but results were not promising- can't flow text around the diagram, etc etc... it just appeared as another page, and I don't see how to change it's position to elsewhere in the ex-Word pdf part either.
As I've seen pdf files that do include scalable vector diagrams, so there is obviously a method... any suggestions would be appreciated. MTIA.
Just like to say that I find Inkscape awesome. For my usage in doing diagrams etc, it had only a short learning curve, and it's features are great, esp things like layers, transform>rotate, to name just a couple.
Also, I really appreciate the Help on the odd occasion when I've gotten "stuck" etc.

LibreOffice supports svg and has most MSWord functionality (and more).
Example pdf attached.
Thanks Tyler, I'll try it out. I see it's the successor to OpenOffice.
Have a good weekend, Max.
LibreOffice looks like it's exactly what I need.
