One day I decided that my dog needed a baseball card. I made it in PowerPoint because that's what I knew. Since then, I've learned Inkscape and have designed 25+ cards. It's fun. I like it. I'm learning more about Inkscape every day.
Here's the first card that I made in PowerPoint. I mean, it's good for PowerPoint but so much work.
@sketch_of_life If you do decide to, let me know and I'll give you some tips on where to get them printed. Or, I guess, I could just tell you: I use gotprint.com. I have an Etsy store and a website that I sell pet trading cards on so I have some experience with different printers.
The only weakness of using Inkscape for the design is that it doesn't support CMYK encoding, which printers generally require. I just use photoshop to do the conversion but sometimes the colors shift slightly.
