I am trying to attach a command to each of the three objects. I place the start and stop points where I want them, but then they do their own thing. I am attaching the file and a sample outcome. Can someone help?
These are start and end commands for auto routing running stitch. Since your shapes are disconnected, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to use auto-route on them.
In your case it'd be best to break your shapes open at one node. So Ink/Stitch will then start and stop at that node.

Ok thank you for that suggestion to try regarding breaking my node.
I am wondering if this feature only works when paths become objects. THANK YOU regarding the suggestion of breaking the path, that trick is working.
Which feature?
Good, glad I could help.
