Please help me figure out what the com connection name is for my generic chinese 54 vinyl plotter. I have already connected it. In windows there is a device manager that tells me what COM or port number. Please help. I am busy and cannot send plot instructions. any links or response would be appreciated

If you are plugging into a usb port, you can find what is connected with:

lsusb

Mine shows keyboard, hubs, mouse reciever and my graphtec plotter by name.  This will show that it is recognized.

next try

sudo usb_printerid /dev/usb/lp0

if that doesn't show it, try lp1, then lp2 until you find it.
