Using Inkscape with Cutters/Plotters problem using Inkscape version 1.3 with pen plotter

I have been successfully using Inkscape for a couple of years to drive my Eclipse II pen plotter, but with the new version 1.3 this no longer works.

I always start with a .svg file made in Adobe Illustrator, import it into Inkscape under Ubuntu, convert objects to paths, and then export it to the pen plotter.  The Eclipse pen plotter uses a serial interface and the hpgl language.

Using Inkscape version 1.3 under Ubuntu, the Extensions/Export/Plot command is greyed out, so I can't use it. I tried an alternative approach, saving the file from Inkscape as a .hpgl file and then plotting it using a graphical serial terminal. but this screwed up the file completely.

So far my only solution is to go back to Inkscape version 1.2.2, which works fine.  Any ideas as to how I can use version 1.3?

    It's a known issue: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/-/issues/8925

Recommended workaround at present is to use Inkscape 1.2

Thanks for that.  I will await future developments.

In other news, I have found how to implement the alternative method that I mentioned above.  From Inkscape 1.3, save the file as a .hpgl.  Then export the .hpgl file to the serial port of the plotter using CuteCom (in Linux) or RealTerm (in Windows).  The reason it didn't work at first is that I forgot to turn on flow control...
