Beyond the Basics Problems with the fill pattern

    Hi!
I'm currently using Inkscape 1.3 and I have a problem using object to pattern feature in a personal mockup-color-test-project. I've made a pattern and it's placed in different places (two identical mockups with different colorschemes in the same Inkscape file). When I created the pattern I deliberately made the pattern color changeable in a later stage with the questionmark icon as a color.

The patterns in the different places now change into the same color whenever I pick a new color. I've tried to make the pattern into an object, but that didn't work. I've also seen a workaround with a pdf, but it seems to be too much of a hassle for the little work I want to change. Is there another way to fix it (for example, as in how Blender handles it where you can separate the color used in different places with the help of a button)? Or maybe there's a fix to this in a later update of Inkscape?
Here is the pattern I made:

I'd probably make a duplicate of the pattern, so that I can color them individually.

I tried to duplicate it but it didn't work either. It's stuck on recognizing the pattern being the same everywhere and can't separate them by selecting one pattern and just changing the color.

    Maybe this:

It doesn't work either. The pattern disappears when I go from "objects to pattern" and in the layers panel it creates folders inside other folders. The last inner folder have clipped paths inside them. So it exists in the layers panel, but not inside the workspace viewport.
