This picture of a red Vespa 90 Super Sprint was drawn entirely with Inkscape. I used the pen tool, gradients and blur to achieve the reflections in the paint work of the scooter.
This cream and black Austin 7 car was my first attempt at this sort of Artwork. This is completely drawn in Inkscape using gradients and blur to achieve the gloss reflection in the cars paintwork.
This picture of the Doctor Who Tardis was drawn entirely in Inkscape. I mainly used the Pen Tool, Gradient and some Blur effect. The lettering on the Signs was created using the Perspective option in; Extensions > Modify Paths > Perspective.
If Inkscape had a Mascot, it might be a shy Squid called Squidney. Just like the Team behind Inkscape he hides in the background, always pushing Inkscape forward. Squidney has many tentacles, just like Inkscape has many various groups of users! The tail end of his body looks similar to the Mountain Logo. Oh! and Squids produce Ink... ;-) Most importantly... he's cute! LOL.
This is a "Study" of Inking techniques. The original artwork is taken from a Book called "Drake's Comprehensive Compendium of Dragonology". I used the Calligraphy Pen/Brush to draw this in Inkscape 0.92.4 to mimic the original inking style. (as I don't own the original I will reserve the rights on this upload)
Original Character concept, "InkscapeMan". Created in Inkscape 0.92.3
I gave a Live presentation at Chemnitzer Linux Tage (Chemnitzer Linux Days) this year, 2022, as part of the Inkscape Booth. In this presentation, I took a sketch through to a completed, "Ink" drawing, using Inkscape. It was great fun, with lots of fantastic interaction from everyone watching. I was using a "One by Wacom" Pen Tablet, But I also demonstrated how to do this with only a mouse.
"Here be Dragons" Freehand drawing from a reference image (from Unsplash) Used the Calligraphy tool with a Wacom Intuos CTL-480s Pen Tablet I need to brush up on cross hatching...
This is my OC (original character), "Ishiko". She grows up to be the Worlds last defence, against the Zombie horde! The idea was to create a Manga style character. Project started in Inkscape 0.92.4 - finished in Inkscape 1.0. Everything in this picture was created in Inkscape. Final colour correction was done in G.I.M.P.
One of the weekly drawing challenges from the "Inkscape - Draw Freely," Facebook Group.

The rough sketch and final SVG artwork, was all done in Inkscape 1.1.2 I used solid shapes, along with linear and radial gradients. (no blur used) The use of a Wacom Pen Tablet, really helped to render the hair and beard. I used clipping masks for the hair and also the eyes. This allowed me to position the pupils and make fine adjustments. Draw Freely.
My version of Captain Marvel. This Fan Art was drawn entirely in Inkscape. It took over 10 hours to render to PNG...!
Once you input these settings, you will need to adjust the sensitivity of your Pen pressure in the Tablet drivers. This will be different for each individual.
#InktoberWithInkscape I made a pencil sketch from a Reference photo, scanned it into my PC, imported into Inkscape and used the Calligraphy tool (with Wacom Tablet)to Ink the drawing.
I like the old school Superman costume, so this is my Fanart to celebrate that look! Drawn in Inkscape 0.92.3 and colour adjusted in Gimp 2.10.6
Drawn for Day 6 of Inktober2017 This started as a pencil sketch using 3 different reference images, the pose, the clothes and finally the Sword. The Inking was done freehand using the Calligraphy Tool and a Wacom Pen Tablet
Made with the Pen Tool to demonstrate you don't need a fancy Tablet to join in the fun! --- Curated by Maren Hachmann on October 26 2017 7:57 PM: added Inktober tag
In the spirit of Inktober I didn't use Ctrl+Z. Pencil sketch scanned into inkscape then inked using Calligraphy tool and Pen tool for shading. --- Curated by Maren Hachmann on October 26 2017 7:51 PM: added Inktober tag
To add an extra challenge, this was drawn from memory. I drew one half then mirrored it to get a symmetrical look. Inked with the Calligraphy Tool. --- Curated by Maren Hachmann on October 26 2017 7:51 PM: added Inktober tag
Mysterio from the Spiderman Comics. Pencil Sketch then Ink and colour done with Inkscape. --- Curated by Maren Hachmann on October 26 2017 7:51 PM: added Inktober tag
A mild caricature of Rey from Star Wars. I used the Abstraction method to map the rythym lines of the face and head, to keep the features aligned. Drawn freehand in Inkscape with colour correction via Gimp.
This picture was drawn with the Pen Tool and a Mouse, just to prove anyone can join in with Inktober, you don't need a Pen Tablet. The splash of water colour is a combination of two stock filters, Silk Carpet and Watercolour with a linear gradient to vary the tone.
InkscapeMan is an original concept by me, created entirely with Inkscape 0.92.3. If you create a SuperHero he has to have a Comic Book cover... ;-)

This picture is only here because of the help from the "Bug Tracking" Team. A huge thank you goes out to two people in particular... Eduard Braun and Tyler Durden. These guys helped recover a corrupt file. :-)
this started as a study in skin tones but I got carried away... lol
