Hello I'm Milad Moosavi and I'm happy that I can participate in this version contest. I do a lot of sketches about the idea of looking back at 20 years of inkscape and finally came up with the idea of time travel. these two characters in my work use a portal to go back in time when the first version of inkscape is about to be released. I wanted to convey the idea that Inkscape has come a long way in the past 20 years, and that we should be proud of what we have achieved. Through hard work and dedication, now we have a tool for artists and designers that is capable of creating stunning works of art. Looking back at where we started, it's amazing to see how far we have come. If you like to see my works you can find me on my website: miladmusav.com or on instagram or twitter with @miladmusav I hope you enjoy my submission and thank you for the opportunity to participate in this contest.
20 years of Inkscape is not the end of the journey but a huge milestone. The new version is built on the foundations of the previous versions and is becoming better with each iteration. It's a shining example of what is possible in open source software when a great team of dedicated developers gets together and works their magic. I tried to showcase what can be done in Inkscape with simple shapes and without fancy drawing skills. Using only a limited set of tools to create a consistent yet rich look. The piece relies heavily on gradients, tapered and power stroke path effects on simple lines and basic shapes [circles and rectangles were the starting point for most elements]. Organizing a design of this complexity was key. The improved layers and objects panel was a huge help in keeping the 2500+ objects that make this scene under control. Creative Growth - 20 years of Inkscape Enabling creatives to grow their imagination, go wild, and be creative. I played around a lot with layer blend modes, path effects [taper and powerstroke], blurs, the spiro effects on the pen tool, clones, and Boolean operations. What started as a quick test [while stuck on another idea] grew wild and I went a bit overboard... but it's just too much fun to work in Inkscape. ----- Bebas Font: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Bebas+Neue?query=bebas Barlow Condensed https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Barlow+Condensed?category=Sans+Serif

AboutScreen v1.4 entry - Creative Growth - wonderous plants grow when creativity is set free. I love working with colours, simple shapes, and gradients to create the illusion of something rather complex. This design ended up with ~13,000 elements in a single file [for the about screen and the two extra layouts [web and welcome], countless clip groups, dozens of gradients, a LOT of path effects and blurs, and layer blend modes to give nice colour mixes. ...and Inkscape did not disappoint. In the ~8 hours it took to design [thanks to elements already created prior] I had no crashes and no major issues with the tool. --- Curated by Maren Hachmann on April 2 2024 5:13 PM Font: Bebas Neue (https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Bebas+Neue) --- ORIGINAL SUBMISSION PAGE: https://inkscape.org/~SpriteAttack/%E2%98%85creative-growth+2

Inspired by this year's theme of 'Growth,' I've visualised Inkscape as a majestic tree, symbolizing its vibrant creativity. Around it, the awesome users, the ever-dedicated vectors team, vigilant bug-wranglers, developers, and supportive sponsors gather, exchanging ideas and inspiring us all. Can you spot them in this scene? Together, they cultivate Inkscape, a space where imagination flourishes and artistic visions bloom into reality! I gave a Live presentation at Chemnitzer Linux Tage (Chemnitzer Linux Days) this year, 2022, as part of the Inkscape Booth. In this presentation, I took a sketch through to a completed, "Ink" drawing, using Inkscape. It was great fun, with lots of fantastic interaction from everyone watching. I was using a "One by Wacom" Pen Tablet, But I also demonstrated how to do this with only a mouse.
Sailboat sketch. Drawing without any gradient, transparency or blur. But it has some path effects. For the August monthly challenge. Little update: I threw a ballpoint pen on it. Because I felt this was still missing from this picture.

My other club in university, the Rock n' Roll club, had an open gig (not sure what that's called) at a venue in Taipei, where club members form different bands and each band plays 1 to 2 songs on stage. Obviously renting the venue for 4 hours with sound guys isn't cheap, so aside from finding sponsors, we decided to sell merch. This is one of the stickers I made for the event. Sadly I forgot to transform text into paths at the time (I was new to vector drawing programs), and the fonts was replaced by default ones on the printed sticker version. Lesson learned I guess! The rough sketch and final SVG artwork, was all done in Inkscape 1.1.2 I used solid shapes, along with linear and radial gradients. (no blur used) The use of a Wacom Pen Tablet, really helped to render the hair and beard. I used clipping masks for the hair and also the eyes. This allowed me to position the pupils and make fine adjustments. Draw Freely.

My very first , ever, SVG Vector Art. And I'm very fortunate that Inkspace was there when money right now is a bit tight. Anyway, this piece is dubbed Mindfulness, because, well because, you, I, had to be very mindful of what I was doing in each step of the process. I started out with a simple swirl object that I manipulated a little bit here and a little bit there, then I cloned said manipulated swirl 6 times and finally organized all of the objects in different angles to get unique cross sections. Getting the gradients to act properly took a bit of finesse but the trick was to completely do away with the strokes. Lastly I made sure everything was was where I wanted it then framed it off with 4 separate rectangles to get the black and orange border. Just wanted to share this with the community...Now back to the tutorials...T_T...Thanks Inkscape!

Welcome to the sweetest place in town: the candy store! When you walk inside, you’ll see shelves lined with all kinds of colorful candies. There are big jars filled with gummy bears, shiny chocolate bars, and bright lollipops. The air smells like sugar and vanilla, making your mouth water. In one corner, there might be a candy counter with a friendly person ready to help you pick out your favorites. You can choose from sugary treats like jelly beans and cotton candy, or maybe you’ll try something new! Sometimes, there are special displays with candy that changes for different seasons, like spooky candies for Halloween or heart-shaped ones for Valentine’s Day. Don’t forget to look up at the ceiling, where you might see decorations like giant candy canes or twinkling lights. The candy store is a magical place where you can let your imagination run wild and enjoy all kinds of delicious sweets!
