Beginners' Questions Ultrawide 34" 1080p vs 1440p for Inkscape?

This is probably off-topic but since Inkscape is at the base of my question I post it here.

I am currently running Inkscape on a relatively weak laptop running on a 16:9 23" monitor (well, two monitors hooked up). But I am going to upgrade to a single ultrawide (21:9) monitor. I have the option of buying either an 1080p OR a 1440p monitor and i can´t make up my mind...

My laptop is used for office work, no gaming whatsoever and using Inkscape alot. I have relized that Inkscape is the only thing that taxes my computer and am wondering how taxing Inkscape is when using a higher resolution monitor. Is there a big difference in CPU and GPU usage? The laptop is issued from work so that isn´t anything I can modify or upgrade.

you're gonna want that 1440p monitor! i use inkscape 1.3 at work with two 1440p monitors a 11 year old i7 3770 and 11 year old "graphics card" nvidia gt 640. Which i don't know much about but as far as i can tell is pretty dang basic. It runs ok (loads really slow) but will lag on heavier node files. at home i have a killer computer and inkscape loads fast and can handle much heavier documents, but only a 1080p ultrawide 32" monitor, but i have my display scaled to 1440p it kind of looks like crap. if i leave it at 1080 then the interface looks better, but it's just way too big. i wish i had a 1440p ultrawide. i heavily suggest you get that ultrawide in the best resolution and as wide as you can get.

I decided for a 34 inch ultrawide 1440p. When comparing to my 23 inch 1080p, I realized that the size of the toolbars and icons were comparable. If I hade gone for the 1080p all the icons would be huge and "blurry" with the big jump i screen size. Found a monitor that could replace my two monitors AND the dock I am using so I expect to get some of the money back when selling those.
