The title says it. I'm following the Inkscape explained playlist made by LogosByNick in youtube and I'm on the text, word formatting etc. So far everything has been good except this. The text won't flow into the rectangles for some reason. If I am right you just click the text, hold shift, then click the shape and choose flow into frame in text or press alt+W. Neither has worked. Any clue why? And what can I do? I'm using the 1.0 already anyway.
Didn't know that since the video didn't really say that I had to convert what I wrote to a text. Can anyone answer why I still have to convert them into text? I mean aren't they a text already?
There are different types of text in Inkscape which can be verified at the status bar. Extension->Text->Lorem Ipsum... for example is already "Flowed text"
It seems there´s made a change how it works in the meantime. Nick didn´t convert the FlowText before which can be make by using "Unflow" or "Convert to Text". But already "Flowed Text" can´t flow into another shape - obviously and logical methinks.
Actually "Lorem ipsum" is designed to fill selected/combined shapes; so draw your objects - combine - and call for Text->Flow Into Frame - and there you have it. When there´s nothing selected it will fill the canvas as "Flowed Text".
Hello!! I'm new here, I'm having the same problem, except it worked when I randomly type any text it goes into the frame.
But when I generate Lorem Ipsum(I already tried it with just 1 paragraph to make it short) it won't go into the inside my square shape. I'm doing the same steps [click on text hold shift click on the shape then select flow into frame].
@PixelPest had the same problem, but I just unchecked the "Use SVG2 auto-flowed text under Preferences->text. Perhaps this function might not be there in the earlier versions of Inkspace which Logos by Nick's using.
Oh my god. Thanks very much. I was watching that same tutorial by Nick. By unchecking the "Use SVG2..." it automatically put the generated text into the frame. Converting it into normal text also worked. Thanks a lot all you guys.

Here's the SVG file:https://www.mediafire.com/view/krtze0y07ujl4ua/flowtextintoframe.svg/file
What OS & version, & what installer used for Inkscape?
I used the .exe and .msi.
I have already reinstalled it and it still doesn't work for some reason.
My OS is Windows 10 Home Single Language. Version 1803.
Convert the rendered Text (Lorem ipsum blabla) into normal text (Text->Convert to Text) , select all and go Text->Flow Into Frame:
Okay, that solved my Problem PixelPest! Thanks!

Can you link to the Logos By Nick tut please? He´d made such a large list…
@PixelPest I think it's this one. User Kebskie mentioned the playlist and the title of the video.
Yeah, that's the video. Though the timestamp should be in 12:45 and not on 15:34.
I found it already, here´s to the time stamp: https://youtu.be/n512yj9dJiw?list=PLynG8gQD-n8Byyq30_FOq9ylUFL1nTkGC&t=770

:( I don't know what's wrong.
